Happy Halloween

The Ards sure do love Halloween!  This year we really put some love into our costumes.  Dave and I went to an all adult party this year.  We were both so excited since we had not been to one in years!  `So we had to be something great.  We decided to be Kat Von D and Jesse James.  I'm sure some of you have no idea who those people are but Kat Von D is from a reality show "LA Ink" and Jesse James from "American Chopper."  Well at one point they were dating.  Actually, I though they still were but was informed otherwise.  Shows how up to date I am on the current celebrity news!  Our costumes required LOTS of tattoos.  We bought some of those shirts and sleeves that look kind of like pantyhose with tattoos on them but they really didn't look to great.  So, we went all out.  I ordered tons of temporary tattoos on Ebay and we completely covered our arms.  They costumes turned out awesome.

The real couple.  Not bad, huh?

Gracyn and Michael decided to go scary this year.  Gracyn saw a costume idea of a "cheerless leader" aka scary cheerleader.  So we made our own version of the costume.  She looked so good.  Michael has a small obsession with star wars right now and really wanted to be Darth Maul.  He is a very scary looking guy but we pulled it off.  I painted Michaels face and we bought him the double sided light saber for his birthday.  Lucy was a chicken and she sure had the cutest waddle.  I tried to make her wear Gracyn's old costume that Grandma Scherer had made, a sweet little flower.  I was a little flower around that age too.  Lucy was not having it.  The costume was a little snug on her and the petals were tight on her face.  She would cry and throw a fit when I put it on her.  I wasn't even successful at getting a picture of her.  Here are some pictures of our little Goblins!

We had a neighborhood party at our house before the trick or treating began.  We had 11 family over for chili and adult beverages.  Wow, there were a ton of kids.  About 4 families headed out to trick or treat closer to their homes but this was the pack left that hit the streets closer to our house.

Lucy's first treat of the night.  She grabbed a tootsie roll out of the bowl and then handed it back to the man.  She looked at him like he was crazy.  Why wasn't he opening it????
