Weekend Getaways - August 2010

We just took a couple weekend getaways!
The first was a San Francisco weekend just for Dave and I. It was great. We took the boat to the city and stayed at the St. Francis Yacht Harbor right in the Marina, our old neighborhood, where we were surrounded by HUGE yachts. Our boat looked so tiny next to most of them. We spent the first night hanging out with some friends and we went out to dinner. The next day we went to our old coffee shop, road bikes to the Golden Gate, and went out for some shopping and lunch on Union Street, and met some more fiends for dinner. Sunday was our fishing day. We took the boat out of the gate (out into the ocean) and Miss Prego got sick. Yuck! So, we headed back into the back and stayed in the warmer weather and sun for the rest of the fishing day. It was a great trip. Dave and I both had so much fun. Here is a picture of the view from the boat deck.
Next, we headed to Donner Lake (right by Lake Tahoe) the following weekend. We met 4 other families there for the weekend. What a great trip! The kids had so much fun. We played at the beach all day, BBQed at night, had a birthday party, went boating and tubing, went fishing, and went crawfish hunting. We just love it here. Hopefully someday we will have aplace to call our own in this little community!!!

Gracyn Turn's 4!!!!!

I can't believe our first born just turned 4 years old. It's amazing how quickly 4 years can go by. We threw a birthday party for Gracyn on her actual birthday, Sunday, July 25th. She was VERY specific about what she wanted for her party this year. She wanted to have a pool party. She wanted to have a large cupcake shaped cake for the adults and cupcakes for the kids that thye could decorate themselves. She wanted to wear a crown and she was very involved in the guest list. She had such a great day and was a little sad when the day was over. She told me her birthday was to short!

South Dakota and Colorado trip

What a great trip! We flew to Denver on a Saturday night and drove to Cheyenne, WY and spent the night there. We spent about a half a day there and took the kids to the Terry Bison Ranch. They LOVED it. We fed the buffalo, pet the ponies, saw pigs, lamas, ostriches, hens, and roosters. We even took a train ride. Next we packed up in the car and made the 5 1/2 hour drive to Rapid City, SD. We spent 5 nights there with my Mom's side of the family. Aside from feeling a little sick the entire time, we had so much fun. We celebrated Christmas in July, played lots of games including hide the cup, and saw the local sites. Next we drove through Nebraska back to Colorado. We spent the night in Windsor, CO at my friend Kristi's house. We woke up Saturday morning and Drove to Estes Park, C for the weekend. What an amazing place! We met up with one of Dave's friends, Jim and his family. Monday morning we headed back to Windsor and have a VERY VERY relaxing day with great company. My friend Kristi has 4 girls ranging in age from 7 to 12. They loved Gracyn and Michael and basically played with them all day and night. We barely saw the kids. We went golfing, just the adults and had an amazing dinner. Our last day we spent a little time in Fort Collins and then we were off to the airport! What a busy yet fun trip! Enjoy the pictures.

Little Dare Devil!

This video makes me laugh every time I watch it. Our little Michael cracks me up. He LOVES to ride his bike!

Our Little Picasso

These photos were taken early June at the "Art Show at Meadowlark," Gracyn's preschool. I just had to share these pictures because I was so impressed with the art show they put on. Each child had 5 pieces of art displayed and each piece was carefully matted. It was amazing how little 3 and 4 year olds can create true masterpieces! Enjoy the photos.

Wow!!! It has been a long time!

So, I am FINALLY getting around to posting on my blog. The past month and a half have been so busy. I guess between two 90th birthday parties, a 50th wedding anniversary for almost 200 people (which we hosted by the way), a 10 trip to South Dakota and Colorado, Gracyn's Birthday, AND being pregnant the whole time (Yes, for those of you haven't heard babe #3 is on the way)...........I guess I lost track of time. So, guess what I am doing tonight??? That's right... many posts are on the way!!!! Sorry for the delay.
