Political Views

We had some friends over for dinner tonight.  We set up a kid's table right next to our kitchen table so as we were eating I over heard Michael...............
"How are you voting for? Mitt Romney? Me too!"
So funny.

Happy Halloween

The Ards sure do love Halloween!  This year we really put some love into our costumes.  Dave and I went to an all adult party this year.  We were both so excited since we had not been to one in years!  `So we had to be something great.  We decided to be Kat Von D and Jesse James.  I'm sure some of you have no idea who those people are but Kat Von D is from a reality show "LA Ink" and Jesse James from "American Chopper."  Well at one point they were dating.  Actually, I though they still were but was informed otherwise.  Shows how up to date I am on the current celebrity news!  Our costumes required LOTS of tattoos.  We bought some of those shirts and sleeves that look kind of like pantyhose with tattoos on them but they really didn't look to great.  So, we went all out.  I ordered tons of temporary tattoos on Ebay and we completely covered our arms.  They costumes turned out awesome.

The real couple.  Not bad, huh?

Gracyn and Michael decided to go scary this year.  Gracyn saw a costume idea of a "cheerless leader" aka scary cheerleader.  So we made our own version of the costume.  She looked so good.  Michael has a small obsession with star wars right now and really wanted to be Darth Maul.  He is a very scary looking guy but we pulled it off.  I painted Michaels face and we bought him the double sided light saber for his birthday.  Lucy was a chicken and she sure had the cutest waddle.  I tried to make her wear Gracyn's old costume that Grandma Scherer had made, a sweet little flower.  I was a little flower around that age too.  Lucy was not having it.  The costume was a little snug on her and the petals were tight on her face.  She would cry and throw a fit when I put it on her.  I wasn't even successful at getting a picture of her.  Here are some pictures of our little Goblins!

We had a neighborhood party at our house before the trick or treating began.  We had 11 family over for chili and adult beverages.  Wow, there were a ton of kids.  About 4 families headed out to trick or treat closer to their homes but this was the pack left that hit the streets closer to our house.

Lucy's first treat of the night.  She grabbed a tootsie roll out of the bowl and then handed it back to the man.  She looked at him like he was crazy.  Why wasn't he opening it????

Mr. Michael is 4!

Our sweet little boy turned 4 last week!  Wow, 4 years has gone by way too fast.  Michael really wanted a Star Wars party this year which is so funny to me beings that he has never seen the movie.  So we had his preschool class and few other kids over on his birthday, Tuesday Oct. 23rd.  We had a bounce house, blow up light sabers, coloring, and cake!  Michael had so much fun.

Michael at 4 is still one of the sweetest people I know.  His smile is infectious and he is very affectionate.  He is one happy little boy.  He loves to ride his bike, play with legos and cars.  We loves being read to and will play outside all day if you let him.  His laugh melts my heart which is great because we hear it all the time.  He is taking gymnastics classes right now and attends preschool 3 days a week.  His teachers are all convinced that Michael will be a scientist someday.  He loves to learn.  He especially loves animals, bugs, dinosaurs and undersea creatures.  When we go to the library he passed right by the kids fiction books and heads straight to the non-fiction section.  I've learned a lot this year about slugs, bees, leeches, etc!!!!  I love this little boy so much!  Happy Birthday Michael Moo!
