Earthquakes!
We had a couple earthquakes today in Alamo, CA. I usually only notice them at night when I am either in bed or when things have quieted down a little. Well, these earthquakes definitely caught my attention, and the kids too! I don't think Gracyn or Michael have ever really noticed one before. They are usually asleep! Michael was napping during the first one but Gracyn felt it and heard t. She looked a little frightened when I explained what was going on but was quickly ever it and was full of questions. Both Gracyn and Michael had just been put to bed when the second one hit. They were both in Gracyn's bed playing(they do this every night before they fall asleep) and then Michael started calling for me. I went into their room and he said, "Mommy something is scaring us." I explained what it was and he told me, "someone is stomping." Poor little guy was scared. He sat on my lap for a while and we snuggled and talked more about what had happened. He kept telling us that he wanted to "see it." Dave and I tried our best to explain what an earthquake is and that sometimes you can see the shaking but often you can only feel or hear it. I'm sure any science teacher would be very disappointed with our description but Michael seemed happy with it! Let's hope that was our last one of the night!

Lucy is 8 months!
Lucy turned 8months old this past Saturday. She is crawling all over the place (well, still army crawling), eating baby food and small finger foods, sleeping like a champ, and getting cuter everyday! Se still LOVES to suck her little left pinkie (seen below). We have never had a finger sucker and I think she is completely addicted. It still is so darn cute but I am beginning to see that it may become a problem down the road. Here are some recent pictures of sweet baby Lu!

Michael's First Day of School
Last Tuesday, Sept 13th, was Michael's first day of preschool at Meadowlark Children's Center in Alamo, CA. He was so excited! He has been taking Gracyn there with me for the last 2 years and now it is finally his turn! He cried the first day I picked him up because he didn't want to leave! Below are some photos of the first day. Michael already has a few friends whose older siblings went to school with Gracyn. It is going to be a great year for this little guy!

A Successful Day at Sea!
Just this past weekend Dave had an amazing day at sea with a couple fishing buddies! We left the house at 5am to meet his friends in Half Moon Bay, CA to head out to the very rough seas in search of Albacore Tuna. 35 fish later, 3 very tired men headed back to shore. The caught a total of 35 Albacore Tuna ranging from 15-35 lbs. Pictured below are just 12 of them lined up! There were times during the day that they were fighting 5 fish at once. Dave brought home his third share of the fish which was actually a little more than the fillets you see in the sink. Sunday night we had an amazing dinner of seared tuna tataki and fresh toro nigiri. Yum! I guess there are a few perks to being married to a man who LOVES to fish!
Lucy just turned 7 months!
Lucy turned 7 months last week and boy has she been a busy little girl. She started army crawling at the beginning of the months and she has become really good at it. She is now pushing up to her hands and knees too. So, it is only a matter of weeks before she is really on the move! She also got her first tooth about 2 weeks ago. Lucy is now eating solids. She likes peas, and sweet potatoes. Apples and avocado are definitely not favorites to this little one! She is such a happy little girl and still just goes with the flow. Since we are usually on the go all morning she naps in the car here and there and then takes a huge 3+hour nap in the afternoon. Lucy has also become a pinky sucker over the last month or so. It is so darn cute but I'm beginning to wonder how cute this will be 2 years from now when I can't get her to stop! Lucy squeals with excitement when she sees Gracyn and Michael. Enjoy the pictures below. Isn't she just so darn cute. I just love that little face!

Kindergarten!!!
I am still amazed that Gracyn is in Kindergarten. She started last Wednesday at Rancho Romero Elementary in Alamo, CA. She was so excited her first day of school. Her teacher this year will be Mrs. Coffin. She is an a.m. kindergartener so she goes to school from 8:15 to 11:35 Monday through Friday. I am so excited for her and can't wait to see what she learns this year and the new friends she will make. Wow my first born is growing up! Enjoy the pictures.
