My Kids Make Me Laugh!!!!

Everyday Gracyn and Michael do something, actually many things, that make us laugh. I'm going to try to post a some of them. Hopefully they will make you laugh too.

Gracyn's verbal skills and vocabulary is pretty outstanding for a 3 year old. She LOVES to use big words even if she doesn't know what they mean. She also likes to make her own words up. So tonight at dinner she had the dreaded "mashed faux-tatoes" ( aka mashed cauliflower ) on her plate. For some reason she really hates it. The dinner rule in our house is you have to have at least one bite of everything before you can be excused. So after every excuse on why not to eat the gross mashed cauliflower she finally takes her bite. Hmmm not so bad. After a few more she says...... "This cauliflower tastes gorgeous!"

Poor little Michael is sick. He has had a temperature since Friday and has not been his funny, sweet little self. He is very needy and whiny... poor guy. He will clamp his mouth shut when it is Mortin time and will fight as hard as he can not to have his temperature taken. After a little wrestling, I finally got the thermometer under his armpit and he yells out "Uh-Oh." Lots and crying and uh-ohs until the thermometer finally beeped and read 101.7. I felt so bad for him but it was just so darn cute. "Uh-Oh!"

Oh Michael! He is still such a sweetie but he is definitely turning into a little boy. He LOVES to climb anything he can. He loves to hit the walls, tables, windows, etc with any hard object. He loves to run (well, at least the best he can right now.) If you turn your back for 2 seconds...... you can find him on top of the kitchen table. He is still trying to figure out how he can get from the rocking chair in his room to his dresser. Hmmm, I'll give a week or two before he masters that one! Meet Baby Jesus

Yes that's right, this is baby Jesus. Gracyn recently has become interested in dolls again. So, I pulled out some old cabbage patch kids of my own. She instantly took to this one and named it Jesus. I never though I would here statements like "be quiet mommy, Jesus is taking a nap" or " I need to go change Jesus's diaper." So Cute!!! Gracyn loves Sunday School and always has so many questions for us after. She is still not entirely convinced that Jesus is a man because she thinks the name Jesus sounds like a girl name!

Well, the craziness of Christmas has come to an end. We had a very busy couple of weeks. Gracyn saw her first Nutcracker Ballet in San Francisco and attended the Teddy Bear Tea at the Ritz with myself, her Grandma Ard, and GG. Michael could have cared less about gifts this year. He wasn't even interested in wrapping paper or bows. Here are some pictures of the kids.

Single Ladies

Some of you may have already been told this story but It makes me laugh every time I watch this video. Listening to kids songs over and over in the car can get a little old so I had this brilliant idea to try and get Gracyn interested in a few songs that I like. Gracyn loved "Singles Ladies" by Beyonce right away. It has such a great beat. Michael loves to groove to it too. So one day I found the video for her to watch. It is basically 3 women dancing dressed in 1 shoulder leotards and high heels. For a little girl who loves music and dancing this video was perfect!

A few months ago a friend of mine and her twins came over for dinner. Gracyn is not the type of kid that just strips down and runs around the house naked but I caught her out of the corner of my eye taking her pants off. What was she doing? Next, she pulled one arm through the neck hole of her shirt and headed to the stage (aka our fireplace). Right away I knew what she was up to so I grabbed the camera. She drug her little back up dancers on stage with her and even convinced one to put on her costume. Check out my little performer, the future Beyonce!

OK, I have given in................

I FINALLY have decided to start a family blog. I love reading everyone else's and I know it is the best way for friends and family to stay up to date in our crazy everyday lives. And, what better time to start than Christmas! Here is my concern... between email, facebook, online shopping, and now blogging... will my family ever have groceries or clean laundry? We will soon find out.

First I'll start with a brief update of our family. We live in Alamo, CA and have been here for about 6 years. Dave and I have been married for 5 years and have 2 beautiful little red head kiddos and 1 fluffy Goldendoodle dog, Macie. Gracyn is almost 3 1/2 years and Michael is 14 months.

Gracyn started preschool this year. She goes to Meadowlark Children's center twice a week. She loves to sing, dance, draw, and dress up. Sounds a lot like her mommy, huh? She is one smart cookie too. Her verbal skills, memory, and intelligence amaze me everyday. More than anything, she is a TALKER!!!! She does not stop all day long. Watch out if she has you trapped in a small place like the car or the bathroom. You better be ready to listen.

Michael may be the sweetest little baby ever. He is so easy going and always smiling. He is also very busy and always on the move. He is know to just disappear in the house. He can often be found near the toilets, playing with any type of cord he can find, trying to press the buttons on the alarm system, or hiding in the corner of the couch. Michael is talking a little with words like ma-mee, da-ee, teeth, baby. no-no, uh-oh, and mmm(milk). He is also signing for milk, more, all done, eat, bath, and potty. He is a very fast walker/runner and loves to dance, take baths, and pretend to brush his teeth. As sweet as Michael can be, he is still all boy! He will be the child that just runs off at the park and keeps on going. If you a little mouse in my home, here are the things you would often here me saying ... Toilets are not toys, don't gag yourself, stop pulling your sisters hair, don't eat the dog food, and Michael where are you?

So, that's our clan. Our house is crazy, and playful, and loud but we LOVE IT! We wouldn't have it any other way.
