Michael's First Hair Cut

Michael got his first hair cut last week, April 1st 2010! He does really have all that much hair but the hair he did have was starting to get a little crazy looking. He had this "Flock of Seagulls" thing going in the front and waves in the back that stuck out over his ears. Anyway, Daddy took him for his first haircut! He sat very still and was a good little boy. He was quite a hit at the salon too. They don't get kiddos very often and almost everyone that works there is female. Little Michael had them all wrapped around his little finger! Enjoy the photos.

What is that????????

So, last week little Michael took a tumble off a chair in our living room. He managed to puncture the back of his head on something. Needless to say, there was a little blood and he has a had a round little scab on the top of his scalp. Now Michael doesn't have too much hair and the hair he does have is very light in color so everyday I notice his little boo boo. Well today I notice there were 2! Hmmm... I guess my little rough and tumble boy must have taken another spill. Boys will be boys, right?

Well, during bath time I was washing Michael's hair and the larger scab caught my eye. I leaned in for a closer look and FREAK OUT! A tick! I yelled for Dave and made sure Gracyn didn't know what I was worries about. Oh it was so gross! The little things legs were moving and everything. Of course you can image what was going through my head. Where did this thing come from? Oh no, Michael has Lyme's Disease? What if we can't get it out? Oh no, what if Gracyn has one too? My house is infested! Call 911! Dave and I managed to get that nasty little thing out of our sweet boy's head. It really wasn't all that bad and we got it all out, thank God. Michael had no idea what was going on and it didn't hurt him one bit. I think Mom is the one who is traumatised.

As soon as Michael's "surgery" was over, I marched straight into the bathroom and did a "bug check" on Gracyn. Then, off to the dog too!

So, Gracyn and I were talking yesterday about why God made our eyes and nose, etc. Here is what this conversation looked like.......

Our eyes are for seeing
Our nose is for smelling
Our ears are for listening
Our teeth are for chewing
Our lips are for....................

Gracyn answers.......
"Lip glossing!!!!"

Our trip to Tahoe

We went to Tahoe a few weekends ago with the kids. They had so much fun. We stayed with another family in a house in North Shore, we went sledding, and spent some time at Northstar Ski Resort. Gracyn and Michael both LOVED sledding. Gracyn was so tired after her first day of sledding that she took a 3 hour nap and woke up thinking it was morning time. I mentioned that dinner would be ready soon and she broke down into tears! She was so upset and thought that she had missed the whole day. It really took some convincing that she had woke up from a nap not a night's sleep. She was so confused, poor thing. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Making our Valentine's Day Cards

Today we spent A LOT of time making Valentine's Day Cards. Gracyn has a little party at preschool tomorrow and I had the brilliant idea that instead of buying the princess or Tinkerbell pre-made cards we would make our own. Now, that make have been a good idea if we were making 8 but she has 18 kids in her class and 4 teachers. Needless to say, making 22 Valentine's took a very long time and to be honest I had to forge ( aka color, glitter, and sticker ) the last 4. Gracyn did have a good time though and Michael joined in on the fun. Michael enjoys coloring too but today he seemed to have more fun sticking the markers in his eyes and up his nose. So, since Michael has been sick for the last weeks.................markers up the nose meant blue boogers! Enjoy the photos.

1st Hair Cut

Gracyn had her first haircut last Friday, February 5th! Yes, she is 3 1/2. I finally broke down and had her get a hair cut. We only cut an inch off though. She has such beautiful hair that one inch was about all I could handle. She did great too. She played with a little fishing game the whole time. So, here are a few pictures of Gracyn and her first trip to the salon.

ABCs and 123s

Michael loves to sing the ABC song. Now, he doesn't really know the letters yet but he sure tries. It sounds more like this......

It's so darn cute. He is also a big fan of "Row your Boat."

Gracyn is convinced that there is a number "frelve." You haven't heard of it either? Apparently it comes right after the number 20. Lately every time she counts (which for some reason is often) she ends it with 18, 19, 20, "frelve." Maybe she knows something I don't.
